We carried out a public consultation on our ‘preferred proposals’ and options for Hinkley Point C between 9 July 2010 and 4 October 2010.
As in Stage 1, we held public exhibitions and met with parish, town, district and county councils, and other groups, to explain our proposals. Many of these were open to the public.

Feedback received during the consultation, together with further studies undertaken, helped us develop our proposals further. The proposed changes that resulted from Stage 2 were then consulted on ahead of submitting our application to the IPC.
Statement of Community Consultation
A Consultation Strategy setting out how EDF Energy proposed to consult with the local community was discussed with West Somerset Council, Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset County Council.
The Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC) was published in full in local newspapers from 29 June 2010.
