Following extensive consultation on our proposals for Hinkley Point C, we submitted our Development Consent Order (DCO) application to the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) on 31 October 2011. This was accepted for examination by the IPC on 24 November 2011. Statutory consultees, the local communities and the general public were notified of the procedure to register with the IPC to make representations on our final proposal on 1 December 2011 and given until 23 January 2012 to register with the IPC.
The IPC is expected to hold public hearings on its application before making its recommendation to the Secretary of State by the end of the year. The final decision on EDF Energy's plans for Hinkley Point C will be made by the Secretary of State.
